I tried exporting a mesh with vertex color data to other packages through collada and fbx. But seems like LW doesnt write vx-color info to the exported file.
Is it true or there's something i'm missing? I've been exporting from modeler.

VX color is very important in game engines - with it artists are able to uniformely blend, fade and tint materials. A following screenshot will explain what i mean.

In this test scene i have 2 mesh layers (grass and snow) faded to none with a several strokes of Paint Vertex Color tool. But painting was done in another package, cause I couldn't manage to take that vx-color data out of LW.
Well, any ideas? :)

Still seems to be an issue, I've got the same problem
Did you ever solve it?

If in 3rd party app you can load image to vertex color map,
you could try to Save Vertex Map Image to image file, using VMapManager (http://modelingpack.trueart.eu)tool designed for this task,
then load it back in other app.

http://www2.trueart.pl/Products/Plug-Ins/VMapManager/Graphics/VMapManager_SaveVMapImage_Panel.gif

I just tried saving Vertex Color Map from LW v11.6.x, then load it Layout by 2D Image node. Worked fine.

Regardless, given that LW understands vertex colors, there's no excuse for not exporting in formats that support them, esp. given how useful they can be in game engines.

Report as a feature request, I guess, though could be an exporter bug as well.
