I was wondering if there are any good tutorials on creating fire and water?

I have seen videos on you tube of transparent cups being filled with water and an interesting project with a rocket launcher with flames coming out of the back.

I imagine you need to use the surface and sprite object type but so far all i have been able to create is smoke and to me looks like blobby oil

Tutorials by Brad Peebler for Desktop Images are very useful when getting started with Hypervoxels & Particles. The HV DVD is for sale on their web site now, dunno why the "ParticleFX Concepts" tutorial isn't. The former shows how to make an HV liquid and an explosion, (and naturally teaches the fundamentals), but making HV fire is shown at the end of the ParticleFX tutorial. Though the original video tapes were made for LW 7.x, the HV and AFAIK, Particle functions of LW haven't changed since then, so these tutorials are as useful as ever.

I see that Newtek has changed their server address and unfortunately the old address links aren't re-directed, we get "page not found".

It's possible to fix the address like this:

Click on the old link and wait till it fails to load:

http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99866&highlight=fire&page=2

now replace "www.newtek.com/forums" with "forums.newtek.com"

This loads the correct page.

BTW thanks for the links, good stuff!

*sigh* Cant NT do a mass 'find and replace' text edit?

Probably what they have done, but maybe also screwed up the css form by doing so??
