Yeah, in order to help, more info is needed. Do you by chance have an ATI card? And if so... have you installed the recent ATI fix? (search the forum for more on this issue)

where do i look to see if i have an ATI card? (I'm such a freakin' rookie)

That's ok.... everybody has to start somewhere!

To know your card, you could always just pop the side door open and take a look at the card itself. Or, go to Applications/Utilities/Apple System Profiler, then click on the "Devices and Volumes" tab. Look under the area where it says "PCI" and it should say what card it is.

If it is an ATI card, you'll need to update the drivers so Modeler won't lock the machine.

Good luck!

thanks marble_sheep. it says AGP....so what should I do, since it's not ATI?

AGP refers to the bus protocol, not the brand. Here's a screenshot of mine...

Also tell us what circumstances make it crash. Are you in Modeler or Layout? What action is causing the crash?
