I would like to see a realtime scriptable engine ala ShockWave 3D with support for Havok (or ODE, Open Dynamics Engine (http://opende.sourceforge.net/)?) and sorting of geometry on a polygon level (not on a pr object level, causing problems when sorting alpha mapped models).

Something similar to Virtools (http://www.virtools.com/) but without the pricetag: 5.000$ pr module. Thats about 20.000$ to get similar (but better) funtionality as Macromedia 1200$ Director.

Not to talk about the 2Mb app Blender 3D with built in Game Engine and simple rigid body dynamics with web player for Windows, Mac and Linux (and export binaries to: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, Irix and Solaris). So if a freeware app can have its own realtime system, I dont see why NewTek cant do the same with LightWave.

Realtime 3D can be done with Blender 2.25 (http://www.blender3d.org/Download/?sub=Blender) and the results are quite nice:
