View Full Version : Kray 2.3 update released

- support for object/surface alpha added (that's for all you compositing guys)
- instances can now be instanced using particles.

Biggest fix for me is the surface and object support for alpha matt settings. I have requested this for some time and now we can render hypervoxels correctly which kray does faster in some tests.

q6600 quad
lw render 127 sec
kray render 39 sec

I've tested the alpha matt support. I'm super happy it works so far. Last time I couldn't get matt passes of objects from kray without having to use lw renderer. It was hard to isolate materials in an object without this support. Now it works the same as lw and you can use surface setting constant or per object matt settings. This really opens up a lot of potential for kray animations.
Kray 3.0 is coming with IPR, real microdisplacements, etc. But right now I'm very happy with kray 2.3.

interactive rendering for Kray3? Does this mean... in VPR? or like FPrime?
Congratulations on the update, looking (very) forward to R3!

Yes, congrats to the Kray team! I too am looking forward to v3 with interactive rendering. :)
LWCAD and Kray are the only things keeping me here in LW land, so keep it up.
