Hi I would appreciate some guidance on my production problem. I want to use the PIP double box effects on the XD850 but I need to be able to remove the background graphics layer and replace it with full motion video background.

Can this be done on the XD850 and will Virtual Set Editor remove the double box PIP and replace it with an alpha channel ?

Many thanks

What you need to do is use the "B" channel of the virtual input for your DDR or motion background source. Then, use the "A" channel and the "Overlay" as your PIP sources. Use the positioners for each to build the effect in the switcher.

Or the reverse way to approach it would be to use the A/B channels as the PIP effects are designed, but then design a motion graphic with an alpha channel to lay on top over the existing effect using the overlay channel. You can build a graphic with an alpha channel where the PIP elements are, covering the existing graphic with your own motion graphic element from a DDR.
