A thread dedicated to strange particle behavior - and (hopefully solutions) that I discover while mucking through LW's Particle FX
Thanks ahead of time to anyone submitting your knowledge/ understanding

DID YOU KNOW....

Parent-Emitter(End) and Birthrate : Birthrate set to 1 does NOT mean 1 parent particle dies, one child particle born - but I don't know exact formula for 1 to 1 spawning-

Case #1 - a point cloud object with about 6700 vertices (6700 1 pt polys) was set to emit 6700 particles on the 1st frame
- they die on contact with a collider set to ERASE
- a child emitter is parented to the point cloud with nozzle set to Parent-Emitter(End)
- child emitter birthrate set to 1 spawns 100 particles/ 1 parent particle death
Birthrate of .01 / frame spawns 1 to 1 particle birth

Case #2 - an emitter null with nozzle set to box births 100 particles
- they die on contact with a collider set to ERASE
- child emitter is parented to the emitter null with nozzle set to Parent-Emitter(End)
- child emitter birthrate = 1 spawns 100 particles/ 1 parent particle death
BUT - birthrate of .01 / frame spawns 5 to 1 particle birth?

Is there a reliable method of calculating child emitter birthrate for a 1 to 1 birth ratio??
