Hey

Iv been trying to figure out how to rig a hydraulic Piston with a spring in between, so that the spring squashes and stretches if i compress or expand the piston. But no luck so i decided tot urn to the forums :)

Does any one know How this can be done?
Or where i can find a tutorial on how to do it?

Thanks in advance

Hey there Oliver... I found a video from years back that William (Proton) Vaughen did on creating a spring using morphs. Not sure if you're struggling with the generation of the spring and its movement, or the rigging of the piston. But basically, Proton's video used the Helix tool to create a spring... then used the same tool but with a different length, out to the background layer, and then a tool called BG to morph, which takes the selected layer, and the background layer, and creates a morph target. As for the rigging of the piston, i've seen tutorials about that deal with it, but can't remember where they were. I'll have a look at home tonight, and see if I can help further :D

Also is there a way to link the morph tot he movement of the piston (one of the bones)

If any one know. or knows where there is a tutorial on linking morphs with bone movements.

It's an LScript so it should work in 64 bit computers.
