I'm hosting a bit of a serious do in the next while. Reading through the DJ's playlist though nearly did my head in as it's just run of the mill kind of stuff.

- Being hyper middle aged as I am I realise there's a great rift between where you tend to cut loose from the overload of fashionable music in your 30's and finding interesting sh*t in your 50's.

- Have the eating and drinking aspect done but want some suggestions along these lines for dancing...

Thanks :)

If you have access to it, newest crap from Yello (like "Yello Touch" album), is excellent ... Till Brönner and Heidi Happy did more then few things on it, here is couple of examples :

They're good too but as you say they aren't on iTunes... I'll run it by the DJ, who comes with the venue (scoff):D

This DJ used to work at the Entertainment complex where I work.

He also did some work for Billboard Magazine so fairly respected I guess. It was never my bag especially.

Done, he sounds good. I'll fly him out and put him up in luxury accommodation for 3 days not:)

Enough cocktails and you could play the music backwards!

I hope your soire is epic... in which case it'll probably go viral and you won't even have to tell us about it!

Soulwax's nite versions or 2ManyDJ's stuff (the 2ManyDJ's albums are a complete nightclub on a disc and I've heard several DJ's just play them from start to finish): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FXDxA5MBJw

Carlo Cordara Orchestra - Jet Society

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3oiw_dZIE4

Ultimate 1960's lounge music song. It's just so PanAm, martinis on on plane type music...

Thanks guys, some useful stuff there... up all night. Can't find "Jet Society" but good tip. Carlo Cordara has few other little gems:thumbsup: It's actually quite hard to complie 100 or so songs and balance it out.

Yeah, except it's being played in public. I have about 15 to go so I'll look for it elsewhere. The wedding merry-go-round is non-stop haemorrhaging cash ...:)

The last wedding I went to, the bride and groom had a playlist on spotify that just played all night through a PA...and this was at the biggest and most fun wedding I think I'll ever attend.

Shhhh...the cake is bugged.

Oh definitely arrest and detain at weddings, I've heard stories of helicopters dropping the music police swat teams through the belfry... done:)

Ha, just as well we bothered with one. Went for a traditional cake with lots of Marzipan, flowers and the like. Not sure if anyone is going to put it under their pillow and dream of who they want to marry...

A wedding is a difficult thing to organise, lots of things to dodge family wise let alone the W word; I ended up buying 4 x $300 Ties for the bridal party as who wants a $50 Tie as a gift? and my bride originally didn't want a traditional wedding dress but had a beuatiful hand made Satin/Silk number fitted this morning.

Not meaning to harp-on but how great is this City, the city of Sydney.

Got the pro shots... bizarre traffic lights under the bridge on the way to the reception, somehow he made it there before us.
