For some reason I can't select a bunch of lights and -using the light object properties panel- cant alter their type from area to spotlight.

I am sure I could do this in 9.6? Any ideas? This is going to be one of those really embarrassing moments lack serious sleep deprivation causes.

Thanks

You can do this in the new scene editor.

On the right hand side, choose the property tab. From the dropdown, choose Light:Basic. This will list all your light types in the scene. Just to the left of the name of the light types is a small box. You'll want to click in the box (shift click to select multiple lights) which will bring up a dialog. Change the light type to what you want and hit apply. Everything you selected will be changed to that light type.

Thanks. I will check ( I hate the Lightwave click, click, click thing! Why not a click drag?)

You know, I found an easier way.... Create a new scene, import all the lights from the existing scene and rebuild the sucker. Import those new lights into the former scene. Boy what a pig!
