Communication Is Everything...

It could say, this is it..you wonīt be getting a Physical Dvd in your hands, or
It could say, The Dvd is on Itīs way, meanwhile you can download the tutorial here.

Life can be simple if you choose to make it that way, godnight guys and girls...Im gonna hit the sack now before the summer heat hits my sleeping room, gonna watch the "dvd" tomorrow.

"You are wise. But there is a sadness to your wisdom."
I don't know who you are, but it looks like you have allot of posts here so maybe you know what you're talking about.
I checked this thread about the DVD we've all been waiting for when you started it.
I thought cool, maybe I'll get an email from Newtek. I have not, not your fault I know. I looked around..no new newsletter. I waited, looked around some more. Nothing.
I checked an email I received from Newtek from June 7, 20011 that says: "The rigging dvd will be made available later this year as digital download, if you're signed up for the newsletter you should be notified about this when it comes closer to release, Thanks!"
I see your reply here to people asking about you privileged information.
I don't usually get into internet forum ********, but I just want to tell you that your post sucks. You could have been cool.

I've got an email to my work, but not my personal one... how odd. Both are full licenses of LW and my work copy was bought much more recently (this year) whereas my copy was bought in 2009! Maybe they are doing the emails like the t-shirts... :D

I got it ..and you donīt, seriously..be nice to people, go and post nice things about Newtek and Lightwave everywhere, and it might happen that you get noticed.:D

Strange thou, that it shows up here in stockholm, sweden before some of you guys over there has it.
Maybe a new marketing strategy for the so overlooked european market:)

I just sent a mail back to newtek and notified that some of you havenīt recieved anything, perhaps they can take a look at it.
And perhaps make a statement of the release on the news pages.
Or Maybe they are on the way to have a vacation, they will need it.

Sheer speculation, but as I posted elsewhere:

I haven't received an email yet either. There are all sorts of possibilities though. Because of the massive download size, if they are smart they probably staggered the emails. And they could be alphabetical by first name or last, or by Product ID code, simply by database record number, or a combination of criteria. Personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it until say Tuesday (Monday being a holiday in the US).

MichaelBefore I go jumping up and down about this Michael - could you just double-check that the email address you have in your registration profile is valid and working? (I'd have sworn mine was, even though it was an old one, but when I sent a test email to it it bounced ... so I don't want to make assumptions).

It is the the same mail in the registration, as the mail adress I got my download link from...so it must be valid and working.

Just a little heads up. Entering the email in safari on the mac attempts to load the file in a safari window; not an edifying experience. Chrome worked for me, I didn't try Firefox. Hopefully I haven't missed an instruction saying don't use Safari...

Hi gang, after roughly 4 hours of download time Stuffit reported it could not unstuff, file corrupt. The file was I think 1.9 gig which seemed a little shy of the 2.3 gig described on the download page and maybe that was an indication the file was not complete although the download manager said it was done. I'm on a Intel Mac and used Firefox. Anyone else have an issue? I will try againg tonight when I get home. Any info would be helpful.

Thanx, Richard

If you used Firefox, you can copy the download link from the download window (I won't paste the direct link here - NT have minimal access controls in place in any case).

If you get hold of wget, a GPL tool, you can then use it in the command prompt/terminal with the -c switch

wget -c http://link/to/file

make sure to run it in the directory containing your partial download. It will resume from where the download aborted.

It is a tutorial showcasing Rigging in LW. Hence the name: Rigging Revealed.

This link is not downloading, it is reading the file with MacOSX ?!! Is this download only for Windows-User? I have tested it to download on 4 different OSX Computers here, they all have the standard configuration and are up to date...

I'm not sure I understood your post. Safari seems determined to download it as a text file, so try Chrome or Firefox. I set mine going in Firefox last night and it failed part-way through, so I resumed it with wget before I left this morning....

Seems like when a system or browser doesn't know what to do with the .rar archive, it just reads it as text. It should be possible to configure it to handle it the same way it would a .zip, .sit, etc.

I think it's a server misconfiguration - wget reported it as a text download as well.

I think it's a server misconfiguration - wget reported it as a text download as well.Maybe one that is more relevant to some browsers than others. I used to run into this sort of thing from time to time when I was running Macs, and occasionally IE. It almost never happens to me anymore.
