I'm not sure I would call them easy, a lot of the ones you see might actually only be a variation rather that an exact reproduction, and there's no uncanny valley to fall into when you are bit off so I think you could say they are more forgiving.

If you are interested in commercial tutorials then consider Lewis' Car Modelling Tutorial (http://www.foundation3d.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=77), at around 37 hours for $39.95 it's very good value, you'll learn a lot I'm sure.

Of course "easy" is a relative term. If you've done a lot of hard surfaced models then it certainly makes cars easier. I've done a number of cars and there are parts that are tough for me some times. The thing I find is that they take a long time for a photoreal car. Often when I get near the end I'm sick of looking at it, but then I;m happy with it after it finishes.

With EasySpline http://www.easyspline.com
they are easier to do, than without.
It's showing spline patches in real-time, when splines are properly connected. It has also a lot of unique tools for editing splines, spline patches, and frozen spline patches, not available native in LightWave. And very intuitive tool for adding and moving points on splines.

Jaguar car in this tutorial was made in 10 minutes with taking screen-shots and writing description what to do.

Then you have to freeze splines to regular geometry and start adding details.

That looks neat for 10 mins but hardly a good example.

Hehe, yes it is partly representative of this forum and its loose affiliation with bewbs. It's also my homage to LightWave 6. I actually made it before the announcement but never used it. I thought it still valid as LightWave augmented by CORE Technology. ;D
