View Full Version : Bones in second layer deforming object???

I'm following a tutorial.....In it I'm supposed to load an object (a hand) which is in one layer with bones in a second layer.
It says to convert the bone layer to skelegons, then set the hand geometry to use these bones (from the second layer) to deform.
The trouble is I have no idea how to set the hand geometry to do this...My experience with bones is that they are always in the same layer as the object, and the object itself has weight maps.
The object in this tute has no weight maps.
Anyone know how bones in a second layer can distort the object in layer 1

Select the object you want to deform, click bones or shift+b and click properties or p. In the bones panel there is something that says use bones from object and select the layer that contains the bones.
