Lightwave icons have been slightly in flux for the past few releases, and while I was getting used to something new, decided to make my own that were a bit more Mac friendly...white, and just a little glossy (roughly based on Adobe icons by Joe Martinez (http://joeimartinez.deviantart.com/art/Adobe-Icons-Lite-Edition-150694385)). Much prettier than the gray squares, if I dare say so myself.

The easiest way to change icons is with Candybar (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/8948/candybar), but there are plenty of other apps you can try, or just open up the respective icon and application info panels in Finder (command-i) and copy/paste the icon between the two. However, to update the icon used during render progress updates in Lightwave 10.x, you'll also need to update some of the internal application resources. Right-click the application (Layout especially, but you can do the same for Modeler and Hub) and choose "Show Package Contents" then navigate to /Contents/Resources/, where you'll find LightWave.icns (or Modeler.icns, or Hub.icns, depending on which app you're updating). Replace this with the desired icon (backup or rename the original as .old just in case), and you should be all set.

Since I keep several versions of Lightwave installed on each of my systems, this makes it easier to keep them separate, while giving them a much more polished and consistent look. The .zip files are for 9.6 (smaller logo, traditional green/blue/red), 10.0 (grays and blues), and 10.1 (gray/blue/orange). Because Layout has traditionally used a warm colour, and Modeler a cool blue, I swapped the use of orange/blue in 10.1 to be more consistent with previous versions of Lightwave.
