I made this old tricyle for a challenge over at the simply lightwave forums. It was a fun model with some interesting parts. Comments welcome.

Beautiful, the metal shader is superb. Very nice. And all else, the slight deformation, the lighting... Cool.

There is no newsletter, but if not one of your works are the picture of the month, you are definitely the artist of the month.
Thanks for embellishing the forums.

Cheers

Thanks guys. I wanted to make every piece deformed so it looked real in closeups. I think I've done more renderings in the past month than I have in the past year. Heres a wire.

Thanks. The metal is done with regular surfacing...I hardly ever use nodes. It's basically a few different turbulence procedurals in the color, diffuse, spec, and bump channels. Each one has different scale and opacity to mix it up. The important thing is setting lights in the right place for nice spec highlights.

Just find a good image map. I got this one from cgtextures.com. Older leather has almost no soft reflection either.

Hey Otacon, did you ever see these (dunno if they can be seen without being the member of the forum though), this guy make a very good textures for architectural purposes and shares them for free with Thea Render users:

http://www.thearender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=3070 (real fun starts with entire packs at page 25).

Thing is that [ .mat.pack ] file extension Thea Render uses for it's material definitions is your good old zip compression, simply changing [ .mat.pack ] to [ .zip ] enables you to further extract and get image tiles (and many of them are huge) :D

I think I have to register for that forum, but I will try it out and see. Free high res textures are always good. Thanks.
