I have drawn a bezier curve in modeler but when I freeze it I get huge amounts of points on the curve - is there any way of controlling the amount of points or reducing the amount of points in the curve?

You're using LW Bezier tool, which is generating regular Catmull-Rom curve immediately.
Try TrueArt's Bezier instead.
It remains bezier and b-spline all the time.

EasySpline http://www.easyspline.com
understands them all the time, without having to freeze at any time. You can save such low point curve to LWO and then load and edit in the next day.

EasySpline has also interactive tool Spline Density, which is optimizing curves to specified by user number of segments.

download the free px_bezier curve plugin from pictrix, it has a interactive switchable bezier curve or switch to Face(poly)mode, you can start drawing with the bezier curve and then switch to Facemode meanwhile you can adjust the bezier segment to refine the Face(poly)shape as much as you want.

apart from that it is simply wonderful to work with with build in undo´s, pipe/tube tools extrude and extend tools, it also has very good handles for sharp or smooth corners and selective segment increase/decrease options..what else..great snapping and locking of handles, simple help commands lies within the tool, you can also save out curves and load in later.

you have lot of videos on the site

the only negative perhaps is that it works only with 32 bit systems, but I keep one installation of 32 bit lightwave for such cases.
