I was thinking of buying some videos from Learn3DSoftware.com. They seem to specialize in Lightwave and Lightwave related-programs/plugins (LWCAD, 3D-Coat, etc.)

However I just got an email-ad from them pimping the faux-ware "Illusion Mage" software. This is the "3D Killer App" that's a shameless repack of Blender 3D and illegally uses hundreds of 3D artists' images on their website.

I don't know if "Learn3DSoftare.com" is just doing business with "Illusion Mage" or if they're the same entity or what... but I just lost all interest in giving them any of my business, as I find the "Illusion Mage" thing really shady and abusive to all the software companies, websites, and artists who its stealing from.

Here's more info:

They've been around for sometime. I believe it's been reported in various threads (such as here (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119408)) and on other forums (Blender's).

Apparently, the owner of Learn3DSoftware was unaware of "Illusion Mage". Here's his response to me:

Hi Ross,

I just found out myself about this company or person. They've been permanently removed from our website a couple of hours ago. I'm not a Blender user so I was out of the loop on this situation until I got a pile of emails from concerned customers this morning warning me about these people or person.

So yes....I got punked.....but it's been taken care of.

Adam

This is a relief, as I have had my eye on several of Adam's products.
