Thanks for posting this, always useful to brush up on this kind of info and be reminded of the "rules" for this kind of work. Not forgetting that sometimes it's good to think outside the box and break the rules occasionally. :)

Just know that it is best to understand why the rule exists in the first place before you break it. Rules aren't laws. They are just guidelines really. If you find the rules are in the way of your objective I think it is fine to break them.

Like in page layout there is a rule "you should never use more than three different fonts in a single work." Yet if you are doing a piece and you want the words to demonstrate a wide variety (say different styles of music or food) then it is quite acceptable to break that rule.
