View Full Version : A Spoon in a glass of water (water thickness)

I can remember that there was some tutorial on how to make a spoon in a glass of water look more real because the spoon dissolved towards the bottom. I tried some techniques, even the "Surface Thickness" on the newest update.... but... I can't seem to get it working.

Anyone know's how to realise this? or does somebody know where that 'spoon' tutorial was?

You need to add refraction to your scene. You probably also need to copy and flip your "water" polygons to simulate the light bounces that would occur in real water.

no, I mean how to simulate depth in water. Any water, like a lake or something. There was a tutorial using gradients and for example they used a spoon in a glass of water.

It is possible, but how......

yes you can simulate that using surface thickness in the transparency channel
