So, what's with the bright band you get at the focus distance when you use Digital Confusion with anti-aliasing?

(w/o DC on, the lighting is even in the jpg)

Well, I will reply to this but hopefully someone with more knowledge can address your concnern... basically, DigitalConfusion works sporadically. When first playing with DOF to enhance my images I played around with it, and sometimes got really cool results, but that wasn’t often. So basically just left it alone after a while. I don’t know the why of this but I know I'm not alone in being frustrated with DC.

You may just have to use the native DOF within LW.

Maybe if were lucky, NT will give some love to this little plugin.

Hope this helped :)

Hey Jeric,

In the LW docs, it says that DC should work with AA, but may not work with Adaptive Sampling.

Also, from the sound of the docs, it seems that DC's Render Hidden Geometry feature is meant to help create more realistic results "in camera", but if it's activated then DC will not work with double-sided geometry. Maybe your scene has a conflict there? (Or maybe there's some issue there that's turning into a train wreck with the Luminosity Boost and Specular Boost multipliers?)

Hope this helps!
