View Full Version : New LScripts JettoBevel and JettoFillet updated

10-04-2003, 04:36 AM
I finally got some free time and got JettoBevel and JettoFillet enhanced. You can download in my slow, free and new web site (still under construction).

JettoBevel, a great beveling tool

See it in action:

Simple bevels:

Circular bevels

Now bevel also along curves (thanks to Ernie Lang for his help)

JettoFillet, which rounds corners in order to extrude or loft shapes

See it in action:

That's all, I hope the thread could load without problems!

Please, send comments or money to [email protected]

I'm also posting to flay and other forums. Hope all you enjoy it!

these sort of features should be in modeler 8

well done on creating them..the more "max-like" tools we get in modeler the less i need to launch max ever again!

cheers for the scripts

I said it before on an earlier release: These are bad-***. Even better now. My favorite plug-ins. Coming from a CAD bacground, I have been longing for the JettoFillet.

If you will not charge people, maybe Newtek will pay you to put them in LW8, since this kind of thing should be in there.

That way, we can have at least one Modeler update for 8 without all of the updates being in Layout.

Oh, I'm sorry, I guess if they change the color scheme, that this could be considered a Modeler update as well.

I can see you like my LScripts.

Now I'm modeling a fully detailed gamepad using jettobevel (and much other tools, as you can imagine). I've done several captures with comments (about 150 now, and I have just finished modeling...). If I get some time I will release a really complete tutorial.

See a previews:

I've also a new 3DSMAX related LScript in mind, and my new website... It's a lot of stuff, :)

Ah! I wrote to flay.com guys, since I didn't know how tu add my LScripts, but they haven't answered yet. If anybody can help me...

Very Cool Scripst. You rock.
Thanks a bunch.

Those are great tools.

I found just how useful the beveling tool was in my latest project. The only bad thing I can say about it is you can't rotate around your object while the bevel panel is open. It'd be nice to have a good look at your beveled object before you hit ok to accept it. It's a minor thing though compared to how useful and much needed this tool is.

Really usefull scripts, thank you!!!!

I just tried JettoBevel and it is great!

I see others have offered to donate to PayPal and I would like to make
this offer.
I assume you know FTP and placing "index.html" in your directory, etc.

If you would like -
I will set you up with a directory.
The address would have to start with "http://www.3dfightclub.com~"
- unless you know about frames and redirects -
But you would have more freedom, faster load times and NO
advertising or interference from me.

There is no catch - I simply offer this because I like Jetto Bevel
and I hate advertising pop-ups :)

If you would like
*EDIT* removed URL so you can work in peace :)
just let me know. I will set it up and PM you with FTP username/pass

If not, no problem :)
Keep up the good work, great Plug-In!

This goes to hrgiger.

I'm sorry, but LScripts won't allow to rotate or pan viewports while tweaking values.

In fact, the way you can see results in the LScript while toggling values must be programmed in a tricky way. I have tried some LScripts doing it and I managed to do so with mine, but currently is impossible to get full interactivity (that's the reason I'm trying to learn C plugin programming, although is far more complicated than LScript, yet more versatile)

Also, an hipotetic C version of JettoBevel would be more and more faster, due to the possibility of using pointers, instead of passing arrays, along the fact that is C, and you're next to the processor!

I hope I will be able to release it, in a future not too far... Since then... use JettoBevel :D

That's ok, like I said, very minor detail. It's a great lscript.

10-07-2003, 11:23 AM
I'm always amazed at what Lscript can do in the right hands....awesome!

10-07-2003, 12:22 PM
... not to mention that this proves it could/ should have been done by the guys at NT as a hardcoded plugin for some while. At least to me this proves that it is possible. I seriously hope Modeler got at least a tiny overhaul in v8.

10-08-2003, 02:45 AM
The only problem for me is the you-can't-pan-view-will-using-it, due to LScript limitation. Would be possible to make LScripts more interactive in a future LW release...?

One of my future challenges passes trough writing a C full-interactive Jettobevel, the other is finishing my career.

Simply moving thread to the top! What a dirty trick isn't it!?

10-10-2003, 07:57 AM
hey Jagoca, do these scripts work for 7.5a? I downloaded Jettobevel, but Lw tells me he needs another version of lscript....

10-10-2003, 11:35 AM
No, it doesn't work on 7.5 but it will work on only 7.5c. If you want to use Jettobevel, so you have to upgrade Lightwave 7.5c. I wish it works on 7.5. cos i don't like 7.5c.

10-10-2003, 11:40 AM
I forget to say Jagoca. Thanks for your cool lscript!

10-11-2003, 02:56 PM
As I imagined it works in Ls2.6 I think.
I don't want to use 7.5c at all, sorry.
hope they will work in [8]!!!:D
maybe A nt implementation of these great tools..

10-11-2003, 03:16 PM
Why not use 7.5c?
