View Full Version : Modeling Error That Takes Hours

I have the 30 day trial version of Lightwave 3D v10.

When modeling a simple head or body I always get a troublesome point or polygon that makes the geometry of the figure go haywire in an area of the model.

It always has taken me two or more hours to locate the problem. During the last problem I still have not found a solution. I will lose all my hair. :help:

Attached are screenshots.

The problem on this model occurs in the upper left leg area.

It prevents me from being able to extrude a pot belly from the model (I get a hole in the model).

The first couple of screenshots show the model before Sub-Patch mode. The other screenshots show the problem visible only in Sub-Patch mode.

Does anyone know of a plug-in, or a tool within Lightwave 3D to take care of these types of problems?

Slice the model down the center of its body. Delete one side of the body with the problem. Then Mirror the other side over. Use symmetry to edit both sides at once.

Thanks skywalker113,

I didn't even think about that. Duh!

I would right-click and drag to select polygons, not points or edges to select of half of the model, right?

Then use the Numeric panel?

I'll see if I can pull it off. I haven't had that much experience with mirroring.

Thanks again,
