View Full Version : LW animation controlling external hardware

HI guys, I have a question on a subject I'm no expert on at all. I Have searched the forums but am actually not even sure what keywords to use... so I hope I'm in the right section of the forum here.

The question is: is it possible at all to have a real world (hardware) device respond to animation data from within Lightwave?

As in: rotate a null between frames A and B in LW and have a steppermotor/servo/whatever follow that null's rotation exactly (of course, you'd have to hook up the motor through USB and possibly some sort of hardware controller)

So, it comes down to making the positional or rotational data of objects in a LW scene available outside of LW. It doesn't have to be real time, either. Or using some sort of intermediate software is okay too.

Hoping someone knows what I'm talking about (better than I do) and can give me a hand,
