Speed Modeling Challenge #117 Happy Easter
*************************************************
Rules:

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wireframe and a render at 800x600 or larger.
3. LightWave should be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.

*************************************************

This weeks topic is: Happy Easter!

Easter is near, make your own Easter egg or Easter basket with eggs. Model, decorate and paint your eggs/basket whatever you like.
Let your imagination guide you.

Time Limit - 60 minutes.
Deadline - Wednesday 27th April 2011, 2200 GMT.

A Fabergé egg! nice!
Care to tell me how exactly you used the displament map. I've tried displacements plenty times, but useally they give me problems :S

MDSpecific: care to share that complete scene? I'm really interested in how you achieved this render (lighting, texturing, ...). Amazing result!

Thank you friends!
This is my own concept and design. It will be used with other things in future very soon, but you will be notified.

I see now couple of thing they need's to be improved, but I'm done here. :)
Everything is done in LightWave except subtle light beam (Photoshop).

@ chco2: It maybe look like Fabergé egg, but believe me I was making a real one with "golden" decoration. :D
Serbia and Russia are more-less the same, with their own diversity.
We have great long tradition, and same blood line before Christ era.

@COBRASoft: Sorry, this is a part of one TV-promo campaign, and I can't post my scene and object files.

However, I will make tutorial again, and I'll be happy to answer all of your questions guys.

Cheers!

Thx, MDSPECIFIC, I understand you. A tutorial would be great just showing how you achieve the displacement so nicely. The lightbeam is also very interesting :).

Hey,

I tried to model something else than an egg... So, I tried an easter bell in copper instead and this in 1 connected object with quads only. Modeling took 45mins. The rest about half an hour.

Hope you like it :).

Greetings,
Sigurd

MDSPECIFIC: Thanks for the tutorial, impressive node setups!

Again, some very nice entries.

XswampyX: I donno about other countries, but here it is told to the children that 'flying' bells bring the eggs to us.

Nobody brave enough for an easter bunny?

XswampyX: this is actually scary to watch. Thank you very much for this video!

NT: please place the speed modeling threads somewhere easy accessible for anybody on your website. They take newbies to higher levels in no time and I'm sure even advanced users can learn a trick or 2 from them.

Whooohoo! - Thanks. It just all came together, baskets and eggs.... my favorite.

It's was a good subject, just a shame everyone was on holiday. I suppose this is work to some people.

Congrats - again!

When I started this, I was determined to enter every challenge but life and work do often get in the way.
I started an Easter tree but didn't get far at all. I'll maybe finish it off this weekend.
