View Full Version : Convert texture projections to uv

Is there a way to convert an existing texture projection to its equivalent in UV's, in Modeler?

This auto-converter would allow me to quickly convert an object with multiple texture projections into UV versions that look identical to the original projections.

It is another tool i think that can be usefull for converting old Lightwave scene to Lightwave Core.

I also tried to use Texture Guide 2 with the 32 bit version of Modeler 10.0 and it seem that the plugin is not compatible with modeler 10.0 :(

Indeed: If I had a Cylindrical projection that repeated, say, 3x, I have no idea how I'd convert that to a UV projection, taking w/it all the various settings.

Good question.

I've reinstalled and restarted Modeler and now Texture Guide II is working.

For my needs it is apparently the only working solution.
Now i can autosize my new UV exactly the same way as automatic sizing in the texture editor for planar projection.

I hope Newtek will soon update Texture Editor to get the same fonctionality as Texture Editor 2 from Lynk's

I've just made a test about your idea of cylindrical projection with a reapeat of 3 and With Texture Guide II, i made it very easily!!! :)

I'm very happy!, I think i've just discover one of the most powerfull UV plugin for Lightwave.

I think it would be easier if you just made an uv, and made a surface bake on it.
