I think that the set value feature should be expanded to allow the snapping of points to a polygon or even an interactive guide sort of like you have guides for falloff on certain tools. It would be nice to snap a ring of points like in the example below to a plane set in the background. I realize you could stencil your shape onto the background plane and then kill the polygon leaving the points behind but it takes a bit longer. I would actually just like to have a guide that you could rotate on any axis to snap your selections to. Hope that's clear.

Nice idea! I'd love to see something like that.

Ok, I should have called this thread Modeler requests because I have a few more....

My next idea, and I believe others have asked for this one before but pictures always help explain so much better.

I'd like to see an interactive spline cage that allows you to shape your mesh generated from the spline cage on the fly. Here's an example:

That sounds like a very simplified version of Steve Hurley's Patchit. Have a look at the demos on his site at http://www.hurleyworks.com

Oh, I didn't see that. That looks cool.

Doesn't it? Did you also see LoadThis? That looks very useful. You need to look at both vids to get the full story...

ye, Loadthis is a must have.

That's weird, I could find the download or a way to purchase LoadThis.

Let's pray for it to appear in LW[8] as a standard tool.... (sigh).

I'll take both suggestions
