I know a fella developing a somewhat experimental, automated, realtime, character 'emote' tool. These are rough demos (bear with) but interesting. See what you think.

Wow! Even with the rough nature of these demos that's quite remarkable. My head is just buzzing with ideas for what this will lead to in the future, and I don't just mean with how animated characters will be 'directed' but also in the wonderful, weird, and really weird ways people are going to interact with AI and other people.

Btw, I discovered this app while looking for info on an ultra-obscure, weird, indy sci-fi movie from '89, called Split. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd-zgDcDjZI&list=PLF4D4A7533C84C3DA&index=30 I stumbled across the director/writer online and we've been emailing about various stuff since. He asked me to consult, but he has a number of plates in the air and this one is still under dev.

version 1 is available, but is not stand-alone,
very interesting app though,
hope they make some export options for version 2,...

Impressive, and creepy. Falls squarely into the Uncanny Valley.
