Hi everyone, I'd like to share our most recent arch-viz work with you guys and would very much like to hear your response.

This is version 1.0, we'll keep developing the code. The visuals and text are not hardcoded so it is applicable to new projects.

ps: our own company website is old and is being updated :)

That's very cool and Flash works very nice. I wonder what was the polycount and how much time it took you to create all that ?

What was used fr Tree instances (DPI? HDI?)?

Really nicely done... I am impressed by the water and the texturing of the grass etc... it must have been a huge amount of work!

Good job!!!

It would be great to get a breakdown on how it was setup definitely. Very nice!

The actual polycount is about 5.4M.
On top of that trees and people etc are HDI instanced and then the rendered polycount reached perhaps 10 billions. It renders a 1920x1080 frame in <10 minutes on my 980X i7 workstation. Perhaps the best part of it all.

(all is static GI lit, cached)

Since the whole thing was set up in 3 stages with plenty time in between it's hard to give an exact number for time it took to produce this one, but it was done over the course of a year. The version you see here is the web version, we have a local setup as well with dual HD stereo3D streams. There's 16.000 full HD frames rendered for that one.. imagine that... on our local farm.

I'd love tosee the stereo one... is that with shutter glasses? Mmmmmm, yummy!

We set it up with a custom dual projection system and passive polarized glasses. Imho still the very best quality S3D setup. It also works well with Flash, not sure how I'd get Flash to flawlessly produce shuttered S3D directly.

So that Flash one can't be shared easy. But we made a S3D movie of the area as well, I could check if I can share that one. Perhaps we can put it on our new site.. not a bad idea actually..

We were very happy to see LW produce and render such a big scene without big issues. It would have been impossible without HDI though.

Excellent work. Be interested to know what trees you used? I always struggle to find good trees for my exteriors.

Like it a lot! :)
Radiosity settings?

Not exactly sure about the trees to be honest, we have quite some and have no preference one or the other. Could be Evermotion arch pack 1 for LW, or self made by Polas Treesdesigner or with Denis Pontonnier's similar tool.

GI settings are interesting, I use really low global values like:
RPE: 16
SBR: 4
Mps: 1
Maxps: 100

This is to make sure that HDI (for trees, grass (sometimes) etc) uses low values since it borrows from global settings, not the per object settings. Since leaves and grass is so close to "noise", the difference between low and high GI settings is minimal anyway. Yet it is nice to use GI since the overall general lighting is good.

Then per object settings are set for most buildings and some part of the ground plane +-
RPE: 128
SBR: 48
Mps: 1
Maxps: 10

All static cached, even if cars and people are moving.

Absolutely amazing work! And flicker free too! Congrats!
