The animated series. Made my day everyday after school. Loved the atmosphere.

Bale is the most convincing as Wayne/Batman for me. The Animated series is the best overall adaptation of the comics, and Conroy comes a close second. Keaton was ok, but always looked awkward and embarrassed to wear the costume. West was the most fun (and the series was surprisingly close to the comic as it was in that period).

As far as I'm concerned Kilmer and Clooney have never played the role of Batman except in a couple of horrible nightmares I once had.

Got to go with the cartoon Batman... Also, Mark Hamill, I think, was the best Joker. His laugh can make any kid, or even adult, have nightmares for years...

Burce Wayne is Batman's alter ego.

If you voted wrong that just means you fail. ;)

I have always been a fan of Keaton's version myself. He's a bit more gothic, more disturbed, a bit manic and neurotic. He looks uncomfortable in his own skin, and he clearly hasnt risen above the grief of his parents death. I also love his Batman voice.

The Christian Bale version to me is less interesting to watch, but he's definitely driven more by anger and kinda has that "kick *** ninja" thing going. Two totally different spectrums of the character really.

I am a big Michael Keaton fan but I never bought him as Batman. Bruce Wayne is a millionair playboy...and he let's Kim Basinger into the Batcave after he sleeps with her for the first time? REALLY!!! Ruined. Also note that Harvey Dent was portrayed by Billy D. Williams, to me another example of bad casting.

I think that the actor is not all there is to it. I liked Keaton but then I already liked Michael Keaton as an actor. I didn't like Bale much before but the last two Batman movies are the best of all of them. The writing and direction makes all the difference in the world and Christopher Nolan has made the Gotham that I want to experience.

Joel Schumacher who directed Batman forever and Batman and Robin should just be ashamed of himself. Nipples on the suit. Really?

Nipples on the suit. Really?

Yeah, that was crap. But the cowl on that one was my favorite.

I like the cowl on Keatons suit. I also liked the fact that he had the Yellow bat symbol on the chest. In the Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller- and what I consider the 'authority' of Batman comics) explains that the symbol is on the chest is meant to be a target because its where hes most heavily armored.

Hijacking for a moment.

Several years ago, I went to a TARGET. I noticed the security guard with his khaki shirt with the company logo on the left breast. I had to ask him, "So, the company thought it was a good idea for the security guard to have a target over his heart in case you were robbed?" He looked confused. I asked "What do people practice shooting at?"

I walked away leaving staring down at his shirt.

Anmimated Justice League Batman is the absolutely the best Batman. he was the edgiest, seemed more vigilante than hero and was all around the baddest member of the Justice League.
If you have not seen that version check it out.

One of the best scenes was where he was disappearing into the dark and was telling Superman "When you screw up and you will screw up, I will be there to pick up the pieces!" or some sort of paraphrase like that.

Wrong. Alfred let Vicki Vale into the Bat-cave. ;)

Also, I wonder where they were going with Williams as Dent... my guess is Tim Burton was going for a black/white look when it got to "scarring" Dent later on.

I went for Conroy. His voice will always be Batman to me.

Love the Nolan movies, but I hate Bale as a person and actor. I never see Wayne, just bale. He works well as batman, though.

I kind of agree Hominid...

And which one of you jokers voted for Clooney? :D

Adam West... for the cheese factor. His acting was on par with William Shatner. They had similar abilities to overact any scene at any time.

I never liked Keaton as batman... I could never get "Mr. Mom" out of my head while watching it.

Bale = Douchebag, however I did like his version and the overall movie the most.

I like Bale, but his Batman really hasn't done much which is impressive, certainly very little detective work. He basically got told the plot of the movie at the end of the first film, while in the second film it was mostly his being outside the law which worked for him. I like the two movies, but for the next I'd like to see him earn his title 'The world's greatest detective'.

I prefer Keaton's portrayal, his Wayne was always a little fuzzy, out of focus, then as soon as Batman was needed he sharpened up instantly. He wasn't a showy fighter, doing the absolute bare minimum to take down the bad guy, and usually doing it by outsmarting him. See the fight with the circus gang, or the confrontation with the Joker in Vicki's apartment was a nice example. He heard the Joker, snapped up the tray to make a makeshift bulletproof vest and then took the initiative. Okay, he could've been shot in the head, but he played the odds and won. He figured out the smilex poisons, and Penguin's connection to the circus gang, but couldn't figure out Selina/Catwoman. He wasn't the most impressive physically, but I always thought of Batman outsmarting his opponents more than physically beating them down like Keaton does.

Its funny but there is a scene in Batman that I always relate to a scene in Mr. Mom. In Mr. Mom, the vacuum cleaner is heading straight for him and he tells it to stop. He does the same thing with the Batmobile in the original Batman.

I was always a fan of Bruce Timm/Paul Dini's version... especially that early BTAS stuff like "Heart of Ice"... whew... dark, sad, and beautiful.

I kinda liked what Burton did with Bruce Wayne... they made him want to be as hidden as possible (an extension of his Batman persona)... A great example is how Bruce Wayne throws that huge playboy party at his house in the 1st film... he's walking around and no one seems to know what he looks like! Haha... they know who he is, but nothing about him.

Clooney ? Kilmer ? Seriously???

To be fair they didn't really give him a chance to shine in the role as it was pre-two face.

Always though Billy D was sadly overlooked as an actor. He's pretty much the only cast member that put anything into Return of the Jedi (IMHO)

Oh wow! That's great! Good thing I never said I created the character. I will pass that long to my tutors as they had no idea where the character originally came from. My animation tutor has only been here 2 years and now we're moving to to Maya so I can't use Owl Man anymore.

IMO Conroy makes the best batman. I think Conroy inspired the better movies that bale was in. While Keaton's batman movie wasn't bad, Keaton comes across as a soft dough boy. He seems the least like batman. Kilmer, Clooney, had terrible scripts but they are more believable than Keaton.

Sheldon from Big Bang Theory could be Batman if he had some money, and if so happens he will be my favorite:
