I was just browsing around the web and found this nice page (http://personal.southern.edu/~dascott/lwhistory/index.html#pre) with screenshots of every LW Version since Videoscape and Aegis Modeler back in 1988.

Check it out.

did some spring cleaning yesterday and found the lightwave 4.0 videos and toaster essentials (PAL version) in one of my drawers...

I still have my (Amiga 2000) Video Toaster and its version 2.0 software. Sitting across the room. I think it still works...

You see those Toaster's selling on Ebay all the time, bringing a pretty good price.

Well, I'm an admitted latecomer, but I still have the complete package for MacLightwave 5.0 (the first release of LW on the Mac). It wouldn't run now probably though (if I even wanted it to) since the dongle system has changed so much.

Actually, Videoscape 3D started shipping in 1987, a year before Modeler 3D. In those days, I typed in X,Y,Z and H,P,B coordinates into a text file (with a lot of graph paper handy, of course). That was how to create objects and motions.

Boy, I feel so old now talking about the old days of 3D. At least I didn't have to use punch cards. :)
