Here is a link to an on-line aspect ratio calculator. It really helps determine proper size of video compressions when using either 4:3 or 16:9 video. There is also a downloadable version on the same page.

I use this often with Sorenson Squeeze when clients want something very specific.

yes very useful for lightwave

...in 'other' 3d apps you can lock a starting point and the other field re calculates for you...

I don't see the point. You can do math in any numeric entry box in Lightwave. Just type in the ratio.

And I should open up Lightwave to do the calculations? If you don't need this, you don't have to ever use it. But for those of us who are not Lightwavers, doing a simples compression for the web is quick and easy once the client says what width they want, for example, 1024 wide.

Oh sure, if you use software where you can't do math on the numeric entries then it could be useful!
