View Full Version : CPR and volumetric lighting?

Hi guys, I'm trying out the LW10 demo and it looks prety nice so far (Still wish modeler were integrated... slows down workflow A LOT)

But anyhow, can VPR render volumetric lighting. I tried turning one on and it didn't show up in the viewport... is there something I have to turn on or is it just a no?

UPDATE for anyone who was aware of my FBX thread, FBX imports wonderfully here. The only other thing I wish is that IK was easier to set up. That VPR is really nice though.

Yes, volumetric lights shot up in VPR. Open the Render > Render Globals tab. Under the Render tab, make sure that Volumetric Lights has a check next to it. The lights should show up in VPR now.

Cool thanks... shoot, since I'm in demo I have to remake the scene all over again. xD

Hmm... Is there a tutorial on using IK Booster? I heqard someowhere that IK could be setup almost instantly with that.

Volumetric Lights in the Render tab ARE turned on. They show up in final render, but not in VPR.

try switching off "draft mode" in de vpr menu. Also.. do you use radiosity? Make sure you have volumetric lightning on in the settings for radiosity.

Also, remember that if you use several viewports you should have the little "camera" icon over the viewport activated to be able to watch volumetrics there...

I found one IKBoost video hidden in Newtek's ftp site. ftp://ftp.newtek.com/pub/LightWave/Tutorials/Vidz/IKBGhost.mov

There are some on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ikboost+tutorial&aq=f

Larry Shultz made some, but they aren't available at the moment.
