View Full Version : Exporting Skelegon Information to 3DS

I'm currently trying to export my object to the 3DS format. It won't seem to export with skelegons in the scene because they are 2 vertice polygons.

My question is how do I export a LW Object with the bone information in it that will be preserved in the 3DS Max format?

P.S. This project is to make Direct3D friendly objects, and advice on that? :) Thanks.

Skelegons is a LW feature to make bones from modeler to Layout. I may be wrong but Skelegons is only a feature of LW and is only ment to stay with LW. I would suggest you open model in Layout convert Skelegons to Bones then save the newly transformed object then use Right Hemispheres Deep Exploration to convert to 3ds.

Are you exporting to 3ds or to max? I may be wrong but I doubt that 3ds will allow anyhting besides a triangulated mesh to be exported since it is a format that's like 10-15 years old. I doubt they accounted for certain future technologies when they created the format, even something as basic as bones.
