View Full Version : Interested in Jewellery Design for Lightwave

Hi Guys,

I haven't sprung for 10 yet and am still working with 9.6. Currently I'm doing a trade jewellery course (an industry standard course within Australia).

The subject of CAD has raised it's ugly head, and the current suggestion is Rhino 4, plus Rhino Gold.

However I much prefer the Lightwave modelling tools, and to get a .stl out of Lightwave isn't impossible, it's just that you usually have to repair the model if you want to wax print it.

I can live with repairing .stl files, however a library of common claw settings, ring shanks, or even jewellery greebles, plugins etc. is eluding me.

Any suggestions? As I'd prefer to spend the cash on Lightwave products, as opposed to buying Rhino, and Rhino Gold.

Yes I know it's a big ask, but if I don't ask I'll never know.

Regards Charles
