Am I correct in understanding that there are free copies of LW10 being sent to people, unbeknownst to them? Is Newtek the party sending these out? Are they actual legal copies? Does NT give you a license key when you try to activate it?

Dear Santek,

This past year, I was pretty good.

Mommy got that couch she wanted.

The kids all got the ToyRUs items of choice.

But Daddy didn't get what he wanted.

Lightwave 10.

Please hurry, I'm twitchin'.

Yep, just found my copy lying on the porch yesterday as well when I came home. Very nice surprise.

Now has anyone received or heard about the Rigging DVD we were supposed to receive as well?

Don

Did NT announce that they were randomly shipping free copies of LW10 to existing customers?

They're physical copies w/out dongle. I've been running Lightwave 10 via downloadable install files, but it's always nice to get the physical package. Also, they shipped it with a pretty decent set of paper 3D anaglyph glasses.

I got one too lastnight when i got home. I thought is was strange because i didn't order it. Is it part of my 9.x purchase? Yes all i got was just the physical dvd, 3d glasses and some promo things, No dongle. The one odd thing was there wasn't a packing slip with the ordering info?

There was a "grace period" for people who purchased the 9.x upgrade for like 30 days prior to the CORE offering. I was also one of the people who had upgraded a seat from 8.5 to 9 around that time. Consequently it qualified me to be a CORE member.

LWIO wasn't initially the goal but things happen. Ya' know?

For Mac, having a nice stable 64-bit version was a long time coming. :)

I'm not a power user yet (so I can't speak for the more advanced functionality), but VPR and Linear Workflow were badly needed additions.

I need a bumper sticker on my car!

"Will work for Lightwave 10"

If I had a car I'd get one that says "Will wait for CORE".

(I keed! I keed!)
