Here is a video i came across that i thought might be a cool topic to talk about.

this is a WHOLE episode from "movie magic" TV series from the 90s, this one is mostly about how they made the cat in Hocus Pocus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107120/) talk and act human like.

Sooo much work went into it back then its unbelievable.

Its amazing how CGI has evolved over the last few decades

Neat stuff! I love it when he says "Now I'm just going to activate the wireframe display."
*ticka ticka click tick ticka*
*tick tick tick clicka ticka tick click*
Then the display pops up.

I LOVE watching old stuff like this. Makes me SO glad of the stuff we have to play with now, but it also really shows the ingenuity that made so much of what we have now possible.
Also, it's always fun to see how some of these guys used to look. Young John Lasseter!

yes, it's pretty much done the same way today, only they usually add fur instead of having a "baked" image, which looks flat.
sometimes they can texture it though, depending on the distance to the animal and the length of the fur...
