That does look cool. Syntheyes is supposed to be able to do facial capture too, but I haven't looked into it.

Zig at first glance seems to work like facerobot. What did they try to charge for that initially? Around $100.000?

i think the current sample video do not do the plugin the best service...they're not polished up to give the impression it's click/done also there's not set up videos that detail just what you need to do to get it to work from start to finish.

it's new on the market so give it a couple of months for users and developers to put it thru it's paces to what can really be achieved.

yeh it's not 'bargin bin cheap' but it is markerless and they used clips from youtube to generate lipsync which is a pretty big deal actually as
the film we're in early pre production would need voice talent overseas to be video'd for reference and we might be able to use that reference
video to actually drive the lipsync...THAT would be amazing if the quality of the results are high enough.

zign track seems more accurate imo...

zign track is a much more mature set of tools, it's on version 2.0 so we'll have to wait and see how this new plugin performs..also we have very limited sample data currently.

take note that zigntrack requires you to apply physical tracking makers to actors whereas this new plugin is markerless.

zigntrack screene grab for comparison..note there are significantly more makers placed on the actor, there's no tracking marker for the cheekbones ,jawline, forehead etc on the maskarad screen grab so "currently"
there is more data gathered in zign track 2.0

maskarad scren grab - no markers needed also has exporters for all major 3d apps including lightwave...it's much more expensive but could allow for a more free workflow.

Maskarad seems to be really interesting.. anyone here is using it with LW? I didn't understant if Maskarad exports bones or nulls.. are the really usable in layout for deforming a face in a fast way? I'm asking this cause I'm not a rigger :)

according to the 3dsmax plugin info it supports both bones and morphs so i'd guess that the other plugins would also do the same...hopefully.:)
