Thanks guys! glad u liked it! :)

Here's the wires as requested ...

I missed the fantastic Better Bloom plugin form the 32 bit world :(
Hope somebody can contact the author to port it to 64 bit ...

This one uses Corona and Virtual Dark Room for the final render to give it a film look ...

Wow, great model and expressions! The eye closed pose in the 2nd image is a little weird but other than that great job.

Oo this looks fab, I'd love to know more about your 'film look' In particular, how do you get the refraction look around the edges....Ive been wanting to get that myself but not figured a way as yet. Is it done in post?

That there be good ol' chromatic aberration... an effect most photographers/film makers try to avoid, mainly because it's an artefact of the process. Same as lens flares and vignetting... but it makes things sit well to the end viewer as that's what we're used to seeing :D

Nice images by the way... I'd like to see an animation if you have one! :D

Ha how embarressing-5 years studying photography and I still cant remember the correct lingo....yeah the rainbow effect hehe. So how is it achieved in lightwave or better still, after effects? Is there a nifty plug in available someone recommend?

Thanks!

Nothing is done in post, this effect is just a Fresnel node with a good HDR image and exaggerated with Virtual Dark Room image filter.

I have done this effect u can see slightly in those images by using Denis' Node Image Filter's Dispersion node.

... and who said LW depth of field is not KICK ***!! :D

Woa!..
This is it!

I'm wondering, how is your dp's node filter setup.
Can you share your image filter setup?

Effects that you are achieved are interesting (very). It will be very nice if you will be so kind to tell something more about chromatic aberration node and postprocessing in general. Anyway, two thumbs up!

Fantastic stuf Jay. I love the non-glowing and glowing versions, and your subtle post. On the last image the LW render dither seems a little strong on the matte BG areas, but otherwise perfect! :)

jay3d
02-26-2011, 12:41 PM
This one is using SSS 2 nodes for the bulb head and gloves, and it renders way longer that previous test using Kappa SSS node
I turned off dithering completely, it adds unnecessary noise to the image, it seems like Virtual Dark Room is doing a better job in dithering the image

SSS 2 has some issues with Radiosity, I had to make the bulb head slightly transparent for the light rays to pass on to gloves, so gloves SSS 2 node will kick in, there's no SSS 2 to SSS 2 interaction which is an annoying limitation

Making the bulb transparent added huge amount of time to the render

This is LW dof? What were your render settings to get it so free of noise?

just an idea Jay , but there is the whole thing about energy efficient light bulbs .

Maybe give in a slight helix flick of hair like -->
