Quick question: the Displacement Node editor, does it address "spots" on the surface of a mesh, or strictly the points the mesh is composed of?

:help:

(yes, yes, I'm ignorant, I know.....)

It's acting on the vertices. But, that information is converted to (more or less) fake spot information as that is the only context that nodes can work in (this is due to the data structure that they all get passed behind the scenes).

Nomenclature question:

3 values = "vector"
2 values = ??
1 value = scalar (?)

2 can also be a vector, just in 2 dimensional space.
