View Full Version : Merging scenes

I have 3 scenes with the same objects but different animation in sequential order (like shot 1, shot 2, shot 3). I need to merge them together in one scene file so they can be easily rendered by my client. Does anyone know the best way to do this? Is it something Motion Designer would do best? I've never actually used MD before.

Does anything in this thread help?

It looks like it might, I'll have to read through it dome more, thanks. I think I actually meant to say Motion Mixer, not Designer

OK I got it working with motion Mixer but sent it to the client and he says there's no animation. Possibly the mac LW doesn't have Motion Mixer?

Anyway can someone remind me how to bake all of the animation? It's just simple object animation, no fancy rigs or anything.

There's a native MotionBaker in the motion options. If you're doing stuff that's using match goal orientation you'll need Mental Fish's motion baker.

Cageman did a great tutorial on using this plug-in. It might be overkill for what you need though.

Dstorm has a motion baker that will write the actual mot file out too. I think it can also bake out the motion to a different object in your scene.

Thanks, this is just simple objects moving and rotating (car windshield wipers). I'm sure the built in baker will be fine.
