How do you import 2d cad files with the correct scale into lightwave i have a cad file with a wall at 32'.0" which imports at about 1240'.0" :help:

One thing you could do is scale everything down to 2.6% original size after import. No real solution other than that, that I know of, but I could be wrong. To be accurate with the scale, you can type the 32/1240 into the percent field of the scale in the numeric panel as well. It's one quick step really.

I've found that Lightwave uses units based in meters and your cad file is based in feet and inches. You need to try - either of these two scale factors, 30.48% or 2.5407% depending on if your cad file was a civil file or an architectural one. One of those two always works for me (well almost always). :hey:

Hello Peter,

If you have LWCAD it imports CAD files exactly so long as they are in millimeters the file will come in in millimeters and the layers are also intact.

Orientation is a different issue for me.
