Anyone any ideas on best way to have liquid morph from the ground into a solid object? (terminator-esque)
Im trying to do it with a 20,000 poly car object..
Tried it with Realfow but its constantly crashing
I thought maybe some kind of lightwave- after effects thing going on?
Or even a plug-in?
Thanks for all help...

Check out http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116641 for details of the deal pmG are doing for purchasing Messiah ($40!!). The package has a plugin called Melt which does, well, the melting of a mesh to a puddle on a ground plane. The files can then be exported into lightwave.

If you only need the mesh effect the non-pro version of Messiah is available for only $10

Or Melt

I recommend the Melt, as it's non modal, so you can change the settings and see what the effect is in realtime. You need to set an object such as a null for the ground plane and animate the object sinking into it.

Or what Dodgy said. I forgot there was a melt plugin for Lightwave. I guess I'm just a little preoccupied with the Messiah deal at the mo.

In your defense, what a deal, plus melt is, shall we say rather old? So easy to forget about it.
One thing I lvo about LW that though, I got plugins for LW5.0 which STILL work in 9.6 :)
Which as well, because they are still needed. ;)

Load your object, and it's in the Displacement plugin list under PG_melt.

You can do it with blender fluids, and the price is lower than $10 :D,.

The only way I can even see this plug in is to 'edit plugins' and it is indeed under displacement, so i know its been added but i cant open it or add it to my menu items!

Displacement plugins aren't available to add to menus. Have you never used a displacement plugin? You add one by opening the Object Properties panel, Clicking the Deform Tab and then opening the Add Displacement drop down list. It should be in there.
