View Full Version : IK for a "Swing Head" Problems Help

IK for a "Swing Head" Problems, getting the 3 axis's, of the swing head to work right.

I am having difficuties getting the Picker below the swing head, to act like a weight..

What I am trying to do is set up the IK so when I turn the Unit and raise the Unit's Arms the Picker will stay Level.. or dangle.. I have the Polk plugins and taft, but i just can't seem to get the rigging right

It has 3 swing axises

The Picker Rotates 210 degrees under the swivel head, and the swivel head pitches on the top and bottom pin and middle pin rotates on the bank axis..

Just take the picker, put a bone in it, weight mapped, etc... and point the bone to a target null... send the null a kilometer or 2 down on the Y axis, and the bone'll appear to be always pointing straight down... or u can set a goal item (outside of the heirarchy) for the bone and use match goal orientation, to get a controllable space reference outside the heirarchy.
