Hello,
I'm trying to understand why I got this rendering error in volumetric spotlight. As you can see the light renders perfectly in Viper. Any idea?

Is there an object w/transparency in the light beam?

If so, try moving it (animating it thru) the beam, and see if the error re-occurs.

BTW, nice trees, did you make them?

no there's only the bow. I will try few render test and put away one by one each objects to see.

the trees were part of Sumatra_lite version once upon a time, I don't think they are free now.

Ok, I found it.
it was this stupid bug in lightwave 8.5:
Volumetric light doesn't compute right with multithreading set to a number superior to 1.

Modo: please close this thread.

See, ANOTHER thing that needs to be conspicuously in the dox.

Thanks for posting the reason, very helpful to the rest of us!

They didn't fix this yet?
I mean, this bug still occurs in 9.6/core?
