View Full Version : Creating a lighting array in Layout...

Is there an Array tool in Layout for lights as there is in Modeler for objects?

I'm creating a circular corridor and want track lighting on both walls running around the ring, but I can't find an array tool in Layout that lets me do this.

See screen grab.

Perhaps a plug-in to do this?

As always, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

You could use luxigons.

Or try this:

Thank you. Downloaded the plug-in. Seems to work fine. Will play with it and let you know. Looks very useful. :)

There's a cool way here with points and nodes.

Start with this vid and the cloning comes 2 vids later. If I didn't post the correct link, it is the art gallery tutorial.

bryphi77 has a great youtube tutorial channel

I agree, try it with luxigons.

If this is not working for you, you can also try this:

maybe itīs a bit more comfortable, not sure...

If you have any problems using it, just let me know :)

Just a quick note...

I couldn't get luxigons to convert in Layout, even though I had created them in Modeler, so I spent some time learning the Arrlay script Earthworm Jim made, and I got a very good result. Here is an updated look at my WIP.

The green polys in back represent sections where I will display video. The smaller displays in front is where I'll be putting portraits.

Because this is a "revisioning" of my earlier Hall of Shame set, the stills in front of the "big screens" will be a bad guy whose video will be showing in back. The smaller displays in front of the big ones are set about 6 feet off the floor (taller man's height). Anyway, still a WIP...needs a lot more modeling and surfacing yet.

And just included the wire frame. Displays will run around the outer and inner walls of the circular corridor, too.
