I'm currently working with some rather long character animations and I was wondering if there were any solutions out there for deleting static keys quickly. As the scene gets longer more and more keys start to bog down the scene so I would like to get rid of the keys that aren't contributing anything to the motion channel curves.

I know you can filter Static Channels. Not sure about deleting keyframes though.

I found this:

This sorta works. I'm just not sure what all the settings do. I removed some of my static keys on an animation where I just did a move and rotate.

You could also turn off channels when you keyframe or set the option to modified channels only.

Ok cool, I'll give that plug a try. I'm not necessarily trying to delete entire channels but only the sections of the channel where it has flat/static keys. But I'll see what this plugin does, maybe it will be able to tell the difference between deleting a pivot point to a motion curve and a non contributing key.

That would be a heller plug to know the diff betwixt a hold and a static key. Or in my mind... Gotta see the plug in.

There's KeyStrainer too. Not sure if it works in 9 or 10 as it's pretty old.
