I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to load the plug-in "PLG UV" from a DVD. I've placed the files into the pugins>model folder, and I am getting an error message in LightWave v9.6 when I click the Add Plugins button. Are these not compatible with Mac???

They are not UB (intel) compatible as far as I know. Don't know how much work this would be to fix ...

Yes it sucks : P

I would just love to have these in my 64 bit Mac version of LW 10... the UV packer is awesome. Then again, UV'ing could just as well be done in 3DCoat with all its awesome tools for that.

You need the mac spicific versions of the plugins which you can download from here:
http://homepage2.nifty.com/nif-hp/index2_english.htm

They work with Lightwave 9.6 but won't work with 9.6.1 or 10

The PLG UV tools will only run on a CFM version of Mac lw. Not the UB version, though.

What Jeff said. I don't think it's a version issue, it's UB vs. CFM (intel vs. PPC).

Me too. I really wish there was a Mac UB port of these! It would have solved all of our UV issues for a long time now. :(

I've been thinking of buying 3DC just to have UV tools - which I really shouldn't have to do in this day and age.

This is one thing about LW that puts alot of people off , UV map'in should be done native and inside LW ,there should be no need to goto another app or pluggin just to get decent UV functions .

take a look a blender and its uv toolset and texture painting .

Maya, same thing, they didn't have good UV tools for a long time,
even in Maya 9.0 the users turn to using an UV plugin.
