I'm trying to create some low poly soccer netting for an animation. At the moment the netting is a flat plane rather than a high poly set of cylinders.

I'm trying to use texturing to get the transparency of the net holes.

I'm using the procedural texture "Brick" and I've turned the additive transparency up and the opacity of the texture up to 100 and i've mucked around with the settings a bit and can get close. So it all looks transparent with the gaps looking a bit "more" transparent but still with some visible surface.

Does anyone have any Ideas how I might go about this?

This may help. In the "Hours of free Lightwave training" In General Techniques forum.

Thanks heaps, that did the trick wonderfully. I managed to create a realistic looking goal with about 1/10th of the poly count of the models I downloaded
