I got all excited about this at work until I realized the SEM isn't one of my company's.

Check out this related video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQU2IAsQak8&feature=player_embedded) Same instrument, same lab. They write a periodic table on a guy's hair. And look at this guy's hair!

Many (MANY) years ago I got to work with the HVEM at CU ran by Dr. Fotino, so when I went back to school and found he was teaching a grad class on EM physics and design I signed up instantly. One of the things I got to do was etch a map of the U.S. on a single facet of a flies eye using one of our many SEM's. That was so freaking cool.

Sadly we no longer have the HVEM, it was converted to a cryo-scope, and I no longer work with any of the scopes. But if I was a multi-millionaire I have always said the one toy I'd buy would not be a fancym house, nor car, boat, or anything like that but I would but an nice AFM. Yep, I'm a major geek and I'm proud to admit it!

So, Geek, err... um, Aurora,
How goes the attractors?

I recently had a play with them and they are still quite cool! Even better now that it can all be previewed in vpr.

Anything new on that front?

This was a cool vid. He needed a bowtie.

Yep, working on the new stuff right now, well actually in a couple hours I'll be back at it. But I have made some nice changes behind the scenes, added some new attractors and other things. Most of the real work is on a whole new massive and much better beast Aurora_NLD which is a complete non-linear dynamics toolkit for Core. It has a ton of things in it that just can't be done in LW's SDK and oh so much cooler!

And YES VPR is God like! working on Christmas Ball event, (HRA) last week took days worth of work down to minutes!!!!

That was very cool. It is amazing that we have the technology to write on something so tiny. I would have like to seen it done on a fresh undamaged snowflake. Thanks for posting.
