So i've seen a lot of post about flamethrowers and hypervoxels but nothing really helps me enough. I am trying the create a flamethrower effect and all i have at the moment is a single emitter emitting a stream of nulls or whatever and then a hypervoxel flame effect and needless to say it looks pretty average. Fairly new to hypervoxels so if you could give me a good tutorial or help me set it up that would be awesome.

Unless I am mistaken, what Mr. Ridlen did there implements 2 sets of emitters for this effect.

The first sprayed sticky particles onto the truck, while the nozzle of the second emitter (which was a child of the first emitter) was set to "Parent Emitter."

Essentially, Emitter#1's particles spawned the particles of Emitter#2.

Quite brilliant stuff, as usual.:thumbsup:

Edit: Now that I read your post a little more carefully (:bangwall:), I think what you wanted mostly was hypervoxel texture, not particle behavior. Could you post some renders so we can point you in a good direction?

-Study reference

-Start simple, at correct scale

-Parent emitter = unseen fuel

-Child emitter = fire... clone and apply separate smoke settings.

-Use age gradients to scale, dissolve, and colour fire and smoke voxels appropriately.

-Use rotating turbulence, vortex winds, and/or direction wind with moving turbulence texture applied under vectors.

-Use post processing to quickly tweak levels, color, blur, diffusion. Erikals made use of 'Neat Video' plug to aid smokey look-

then there´s the fluid turbulence 4d way..

It actually uses particles as fuel and drive velocity too.
some other stuff..

both particle and fluids has their advantages and disadvantages thou.
